Dan Pugmire of Idaho Veterans Garden

Every now and then, you come across something that reminds you you’re on the right path. That’s what happened when I found the Idaho Veterans Garden, created and led by Dan Pugmire.

Dan has been running his garden for over a decade, helping veterans heal, connect, and find purpose through working the land. Learning about his project and seeing how similar it is to what we’re building here in Augusta County, Virginia really shows just how much of a need there is for spaces like these in the veteran community.

Dan has been incredibly generous with his time and advice, and we’re stoked to have him as an advisor to the Veterans Garden of Augusta. His experience and heart for this work are helping guide us as we take root and continue to grow our own version of a veterans garden to meet the needs of local veterans right here in Augusta County.
