Welcome Don Rhodes as our Advisor!

We are excited to announce that Don Rhodes has agreed to serve as the advisor for the Veterans Garden of Augusta. Don is the Agriculture teacher at Rockingham Academy and the Rockingham County Young Farmers coordinator. With a strong background in soil and plant science and greenhouse management, he has dedicated his career to helping people learn how to grow and care for the land. Don is excited to share that knowledge with the Veterans Garden of Augusta.

He will be guiding the project from the ground up, offering support with soil testing, irrigation planning, garden layout, and crop selection. Don will also be teaching gardening and farming classes for veterans, giving them opportunities to build hands on skills and confidence. With his guidance, and the help of his students and young farmer volunteers, the garden will have a strong foundation to grow and serve the community. We are grateful to Don for stepping into this role as the garden’s advisor!!!
